Adobe Illustrator 11 Package Concept

Adobe charged design:unknown with exploring some variations on Venus. They asked us to base our work on the Illustrator 10 artwork, but make Venus more sexy. Our concepts tried different poses for Venus, making her modern and stylish, looking at her from the back (which proved too risque), depicting what happened after the scene in Botticelli's version, and finally, zooming in close. The close-up won. By flattening out the flesh tones we made her more contrasty, which pushed the lips and eyes way out front. Zooming in on those sections you can see the fine details. Ultimately, Adobe's branding for Illustrator changed and Venus was replaced with flowers.
